Sport Specific

Previously I worked with the UNSW national swim squad as a strength and conditioning coach. This gave me a rare opportunity to work as part of a team of coaches for a team of athletes. Strength and conditioning for swimmers is a niche market however I now use the athletic cross training principles in my 1 on 1 coaching. I encourage clients who are proficient in their given sport to incorporate the disciplines of multiple sports into their training to keep it fresh and challenging. Adding something new in your routine can set you on a path to excel in an area you may not have expected.

I started strength training with Mike a November 2019 initially focusing on upper body strength while rehabbing a broken ankle.  Mike really helped me in my recovery process and kept me sane!  

I train most days either running or riding and compete in three or four major events every year, usually placing in the top tier for my age category.

Strength Conditioning.

I was always quite skinny growing up. 185cm tall and 55kg in high school. When I started out it wasn’t easy for me to lift heavy and bulk up however consistency pays off in the long run and I now maintain 80-90kg. The key to getting results is continually trying your best. Some training sessions will be great, some will be tough but if you keep showing up I will keep you on track and you will get there.

Mental Health.

I have lived with anxiety and depression for most of my life. My training routine has been a big help taking the edge off the ups and downs. One year I started practicing Yoga to help manage my anxiety and it worked so well I ended up studying and became a teacher. I now incorporate the most effective tools I’ve found into a complete ‘mental fitness’ package including resistance and cardio training.
